Extended Gate: the easy and fast way into Europe
Throughout the European market, European Gateway Services has an extensive and expanding network of inland terminals. Some of these inland terminals also function as 'extended gates', direct extensions of the deepsea terminals in Rotterdam and other seaports. There is no need to arrange customs formalities in Rotterdam, which means even shorter transit times. It is not until the cargo leaves the extended gate - often close to your warehouse or production location - that you need to complete these customs formalities.
There are extended gates in Duisburg, Moerdijk, Venlo and Willebroek. And soon also in Nuremberg.
No customs documents required for transporting the containers to the extended gate of your choice. Transport is carried out paperless under the customs license of ECT

With our daily train and regular barge connection with southern Germany you save 48 hours and gain a lot more.
For many deepsea shipping lines, Rotterdam is the first and last port of call in Europe. This results in highly favourable transit times. While the deepsea ship is en route to the North German ports after having called at Rotterdam, your container is already bound for Southern Germany aboard the Rotterdam-Bayern Express. This can save 48 hours just like that. In the opposite direction, outbound cargo from Southern Germany can be loaded onto the train later and still make the required deepsea connection in Rotterdam.
