DeCeTe Duisburg ready for the future
In recent months, various projects aimed at optimally processing the growing flow of containers have been completed at DeCeTe Duisburg. As a result, barge and rail operators, hauliers, logistics service providers and shippers can look forward to improved service levels.
The works in question involve respectively the modernisation of the cranes, the relocation and widening of the Gate Out, the refurbishment of the crane track and the replacement of the crane wheels and the extension of the existing rail track plus the construction of a second track.
Faster processing of barges
Due to the modernisation of the cranes, including the refurbishment of the crane track and the replacement of the crane wheels, the 40 barges that – currently – call at DeCeTe every week can be unloaded and loaded more swiftly.
Faster terminal flow
Relocating and widening the exit gate (Gate Out) to 2 lanes ensures a smooth flow of containers transported by road. As a result, the terminal is better able to process the more than 200,000 trucks that call at the terminal every year.
Ready for increasing demand for rail transport
With the extension of the existing rail track and the construction of a second track, DeCeTe now has two rail tracks of 675 metres each. With these two tracks, DeCeTe is not only able to handle the growing container flow from and to Rotterdam and Antwerp but also the increasing demand from China.
Following the completion of these works DeCeTe is ready for the future.
